And as we began the porcelain teapot design process that took more than a year to complete, we fell in love with our Sea Urchin Teapot and are pleased to offer it to you . . . we think you’ll fall in love with it too!

The teapot's porcelain lid is cast directly from a sea urchin that we purchased from a retail “shell shop” on the southern Oregon coast.  It has a safety catch that slips under the lip of the porcelain teapot body and securely fastens it during pours.  With painstaking sculptural detail, we then mimicked the sea urchin’s distinctive natural bumps and pattern array onto the white porcelain teapot handle and spout, as well as extending the sea urchin design in a contemporary and modern sweep across the bottom sphere of the teapot’s 8 cup (64 ounce) body.

Tea pours without burble or drip from the particularly engineered spout opening.  The natural insulating properties of porcelain help maintain either hot or cold fluids for longer than other materials, and the off-white glaze provides a warmth to our porcelain teapot presentation that we think you’ll enjoy.
